You wake up as a dwarf, chained in an exosuit, with no memory of the past. What surrounds you are the walls of an ancient temple. Your only guides are mysterious shrines. Your only ally is a friendly robot – the suit's support unit. You exit the temple to discover that its builders have long been forgotten. Humans have settled on the ruins of the ancient empire. Ferocious monsters roam the land. Dangerous insects lurk in the shadows. Ancient, rusty automatons continue digging toward the center of the world with the same relentless persistence they had the day they were abandoned. In the middle of it all, you – the last guardian of a mysterious ark, with your only weapon – the bombs your suit produces.Bombing Quest stays true to the classic suicide bomber battle mechanic – you fight on a grid, where plants bombs, which explode in four directions. Once inside a grid, you need to think strategically about where and when to plant bombs to damage enemies without damaging yourself. As you progress through the game, enemies become faster, smarter and also develop more diverse attacks and behaviors, which will require you to react and adapt more quickly. You will find components and gadgets to upgrade your battle suit to be able to produce more bombs with greater power, increase your health and speed, provide you with new abilities, and so on. It's divided into biomes and is semi-open – meaning you roam freely and choose where and when to fight, but you need to progress through the story to unlock the next biome. Each biome has its own distinct appearance and enemies, often requiring a different strategy to be effective. It has one or more bosses. There is a different sub-story related to each, usually with its own quest line. Quests are initiated by interacting with NPCs you encounter in the game world. Some missions require action across multiple biomes.
